Goodbye to the Valley Low (Side B)
Hazlett's "Goodbye to the Valley Low" pays homage to the troubadour rite of passage of going off grid for a while. An album dripping in folky rumbling guitars, blunt sincerity and deep introspection. While Side A sets the stage, Side B dives into lingering, unresolved feelings with a darker tone. Hazlett explains, "The more I tried moving on from Side A, the more I kept getting pulled back." The track "I'm Not Ready to Go" highlights the EP's themes of life's brevity and the paralysis of contemplation. Hazlett reflects, "It’s rare to end things on our own terms... Sometimes that thought paralyses me from doing anything at all."
