Live at the Bottom Line

Live at the Bottom Line

The 400-person capacity Bottom Line, located on W. 4th Street and Mercer in the Village, was one of the city’s best venues, and a step up in respectability for Patti and the band which was firing on all cylinders as a result of a relentless year in promoting their acclaimed debut album Horses. A sell-out house triggered a third show to be added at 2:00am, a milestone that stands as a valid measure of Patti’s growing popularity in New York at the time and as the revered and iconic figurehead she would become. TimeLine presents the Patti Smith Group (featuring pianist Richard Sohl, guitarist Lenny Kaye, bassist Ivan Kral and drummer Jay Dee Daugherty), performing live on 27th December 1975 at the Bottom Line, NY in support the acclaimed debut album Horses. Loaded with punk poetry, expletives and attitude.
