Utopian Fantasy

Utopian Fantasy

Allie Crow Buckley is an alternative singer-songwriter from Los Angeles that pens vibrant love songs, grounded in mythology and wonder. "Utopian Fantasy", the second LP from Allie Crow Buckley, is a beautiful collection of anthemic ballads that blends the ethereal power of Maggie Rogers and Florence + The Machine. Allie explains the concept of the LP: "It is my goal to create an otherworldly realm tying in imagery that embodies different facets of ‘The Goddess’ or the ‘Faerie Queen’ - dark intensity conjunct with euphoric beauty. Originally inspired by a deck of oracle cards, the visuals for this collection of music will weave together themes of magic, myth, folklore, and classical art. From Titania to Artemis. To set the tone I will leave you with a quote from Tolkien - in the voice of Galadriel: In place of the Dark Lord you will set up a Queen. And I shall not be dark, but beautiful and terrible as the Morning and the Night. Fair as the Sea and the Sun and the Snow upon the Mountain. Dreadful as the Storm and the Lightning. Stronger than the foundations of the earth. All shall love me and despair." "Utopian Fantasy" was recorded at the 4AD Studio in London, and was mastered at Abbey Road. It was produced and performed by Allie Crow Buckley and Jason Boesel (formerly of the band Rilo Kiley)."
