Muerte en una tarde de verano
Sergio Díaz De Rojas, Peruvian pianist and composer currently based in Valencia, Spain was bewildered when his grandfather, a musical genius who played for diverse orchestras and bands in Peru, took his own life. Though fifteen years have elapsed, Sergio found himself meditating on that formative loss as he composed his second full-length album, "Muerte en una tarde de verano" translates to "death in a summer’s afternoon". The simplest piece, "Una copa de vino sobre el piano", is a humble ode to one of Sergio’s favorite pastimes: sitting at the piano with a glass of wine. Sergio says: "This is the first piece I composed for this project. It is, perhaps, the simplest one in the album but, at the same time, a very important one. I haven’t released an album in over seven years for diverse reasons so, finishing this piece, daring to take that first step, made everything else so much easier".
