by Scott YanowThis is a surprisingly introspective session featuring Paul Bley (on piano and electric piano), guitarist Bill Connors (who had recently left Return To Forever) and Jimmy Giuffre (who mostly plays clarinet). The music consists of nine group originals (many of which were freely improvised) and an abstract rendition of the standard "Goodbye." Although there are some interesting instrumental colors, much of the music rambles and wanders without much purpose and the results are rather inconclusive and slightly disappointing considering the talent involved.
