Berlin Gamelan
Dr.Nojoke¥s new album ìBerlin Gamelanî is inspired by Aaron Taylor Kuffner¥s Gamelatron and the minimal techno concept of the clicks & cuts era. Dr.Nojoke presents a seven-track deep trip of transcendental techno equally exploring atmosphere, sound and rhythm. The artwork is created by Edouard Tandjaoui. The story behind: It was around 2007 when Dr. Nojoke and Zemi17 aka Aaron Taylor Kuffner crossed paths. Taylor had posted some unusual-sounding techno tracks with gamelan sounds on Soundcloud. After a few chats, Taylor sent Dr.Nojoke a sample package of his recordings from Indonesia. In 2010, the two artists met by chance at the Boom Festival in Portugal. There, Taylor presented his Gamelatron, a robotic gamelan ensemble and kinetic sound installation. Fascinated and highly motivated, the doc returned home, grabbed the audio samples from Zemi17, and began work on what became the Berlin Gamelan album. Ten years later, this music now sees the light of day. CLIKNO kills fascists!
