Apocalyptica

The band is composed of classically trained cellists Eicca Toppinen, Paavo Lötjönen, and Perttu Kivilaakso, and jazz drummer Mikko Sirén. Originally a classical-style Metallica tribute band, the band eventually adopted a neoclassical metal style without the use of conventional guitars and bass.[2] They have sold over four million albums to date. Antero Manninen left the band after the 2nd album but later rejoined them as a live member. Max Lilja left the band in 2002. Apocalyptica in its entirety has made a few guest appearances on albums by other bands, including Sepultura and Amon Amarth.
